Wait, please… Your endorsement in process

Your endorsement in process of Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application

I got a question about waiting period. I mean looooong days and weeks between sending an application to the Home Office (with further transit to the Tech City UK) and obtaining decision on endorsement. Are there any advice for this time?

First of all, you have already done everything what you can. Hence, now is time to check your email two times a day (do not do it frequently – you will become mad with absence of any answer). And relax as you can.

What you have to do obligatory – mark a day of your application with a red sign in the calendar. This is important to control the timeframe. If you will see that time is flying over the expected period and you still do not have any decision in your case, you need to ring the bell.

When to do this – depends on your location. If you have applied outside the UK this visa route takes 3 weeks to complete. I can confirm that Home Office is doing their best. Timeframe is very precise and in my case I took my visa within these 3 weeks.
However, living in the UK and / or switching out of other visa type it takes up to 8 weeks. Hence, if you have applied in early September, your final expectations must be satisfied in early or middle November.

Are there any options to track the progress of the visa application?

The answer is NO. Having such system, you will be informed about this option exactly in the email about your payment and confirmation of the application.

However, all we are people, alive and emotional, know how it is difficult to wait and see the empty Inbox day after day. Or, sometimes the mentioned timeframe, in your opinion, may be broken.

Hence, you can contact Home Office directly. I need to caution you – think twice and do this only in really exceptional cases. They have hundreds of applications. If you still have time to wait a day or or week – do this and do not contact them a couple of weeks after the initial application.

I need to write Home Office. What to do?

Write them directly to exceptionaltalentend@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.
This email is available for public and officially promoted by Tech City UK at their web-page.
Regarding the Tech City UK – they do not have a permission to disclose outcome of any application.

I suggest the content of your mail to Home Office regarding your Tier 1 Exceptional Talent (Exceptional Promise) Visa application must include:

  • Apology about disturbing them;
  • Question about the actual receiving of your application. I am sure you have a proof of your payment and other confirmations of the application but you need to make the starting point.
  • Explanation of the reasons why are you writing them in 1 – 3 sentences.
  • Precise facts about date of your application and your location.
  • Appreciation for any support and help.I cannot guarantee any success (and answer to your questions). However, at least you will do one more step towards your awareness about visa application.

Final notes about waiting for endorsement

I need to mention that sometimes the content of our applications may influence on the time of its consideration. For example, you can apply for visa under the “Fast Track” option. At the same time, you need to remember that the decision maker may have lack of evidence for considering your Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa application. Hence, it may go through a regular route of this visa scheme and consideration takes longer period. Obviously, you will wait for an answer in the next week or two but it may come only after a month.

Another important point – your email. Please, double check Spam (Updates, Promotions, etc.) folders and be sure that The-Very-Important email has not gone to any irrelevant folder during the waiting period.

Finally – believe me, all people who has Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa (or Tier 1 Exceptional Promise Visa), went through this way. We understand your pain about waiting for the decision. So, write to guys from our Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Alumni Network – Tech Nation Visa Ambassadors and we will help you as we can.
