My name is Anatoliy Seleznov. I'm a software engineer who paints — not a full-time artist. I finished a five-year art school in parallel to my high school a while ago.

I don't paint in large quantities. I may spend weeks or months between paintings, but that gives me the freedom to paint only the scenes I truly care about. Each painting is personal: a small record of a place I enjoyed and wanted to remember.

I like to paint en plein air, standing with an easel. I'm drawn to places with character — a cosy street, a building with unusual architecture, a quiet landscape — and to moments of light and colour that make me want to stop and look.

My medium is gouache. I love its versatility: you can use it like watercolour, layering semi-transparent washes, or like oils, mixing a precise colour and laying it down thick and solid.

My paintings are usually bright and colourful, because that's how I like to see the world: full of light, colour, and reasons to pause and appreciate what's around us.
